Chesapeake - Francis "Frank" A. Nadeau Jr., 84, formerly of Rota, Spain passed away on July 30, 2013.
Born in Ticonderoga, NY he was the son of the late Romaine A. (Wemette) and Francis A. Nadeau.
Frank was a U.S. Navy veteran and an avid Patriots fan. He retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer Radioman and Civil Service as an Electronic Technician. His career took him all over the world including the Far East, Europe, Antarctica and the Caribbean. He was very proud of his involvement of Operation Deep Freeze and the USS Hancock (CV-19) Association.
He was preceded by his beloved wife Luz Antonia Melendez Nadeau. Left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Candida J. Tineo and husband Angel of Portsmouth; three sons, Richard F. Nadeau of Largo, FL, Michael F. Nadeau and Lance C. Nadeau and wife Cathy of Chesapeake, VA, a brother, Richard A. Nadeau and Peggy of Ticonderoga, NY, four grandchildren, Damion, Dayna, Michael and John and eight great grandchildren.
He was known as Frank, Dad and Papa and loved all his family. Resided in Rota, Spain for 30 years he moved back to Virginia to be with family. Three of his great grandchildren were born after he moved back to Virginia. He loved watching Toni and Kellan play together and he met Owen for the first time while watching a Patriot game.
A Memorial Service to Honor his life will be held on August 24th at 11:00 a.m. by Father Brian Rafferty at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, 5201 Portsmouth Blvd., Portsmouth, VA.
