Virginia Beach - Francis Ambrose Daly, 90, of Virginia Beach, passed away peacefully on September 16th, 2013.
Frank was raised in the Bronx, in the shadow of Yankee Stadium, where, as a young boy, he was taken into the stadium by the hand by Babe Ruth. In the Summer of '42 he met the love of his life, Genevieve. That year, he entered the Navy's V-5 program. After the war, Frank and Gene moved to Brooklyn, where he joined Sealtest Dairies. They moved to Denville, NJ in 1956. He worked in the dairy industry until 1984 when he retired as Vice President of Deltown Foods. They retired to Virginia Beach in 1986. He enjoyed 28 years of blissful retirement including golfing, fishing, birding, beachcombing for shells and treasure, keeping up with NASA programs and enjoying travel and family visits.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Gene, his daughter Jayne and son-in-law Frank, his sister Catherine, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Francis A. and Anna O'Brien Daly, son Stephen Jeremy and his brother Thomas.
With his quick wit and contagious smile, Frank spread joy and laughter wherever he went. He never met a stranger and he will be missed by many.
