George E. Turner

Virginia Beach - George Edward Turner, 72, passed away at home on December 28, 2013. He was born in Lynchburg, Va. to the late Edward and Claire Turner. He retired as a Chief Petty Officer Machinist Mate after serving 22 years in the US Navy, then later to retire from QED Systems where he wrote procedural manuals. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of over 48 years, Ellen Margaret Turner; daughters, Cindy T. Kochersperger & her husband, David and Lisa S. Snyders & her husband, Jon; granddaughters, Ashley Kochersperger, Taylor Smith and Emily Snyders; sister, JoAnn Davis; brother, Gerald Turner and several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

A service to celebrate his life with full military honors will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home with Dr. Philip J. Parker officiating. He will be laid to rest at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.
