Glen Thomas Boyette

Chesapeake - Glen Thomas Boyette, 79, passed away peacefully October 29, 2013. He was born in South Norfolk to the late Neverson G. and Lula Mae Boyette and was preceded in death by the love of his life Thelma Mann Boyette. Glen served his country proudly in the United States Army and later retired after a successful career with Texaco Oil Company. Glen and Thelma enjoyed lifelong friendships from Norfolk, Richmond, Manassas, Atlanta and beyond. Glen was an avid Redskins and Georgia Bulldogs fan, but above all, loved his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Linda Ward Davis(Bob), Brenda Ward McBride(Steve), Gary Ward(Kathy), Cheryl Ward George(Barry), Larry Ward(Tracy) and Peggy Ward Hendricks; grandchildren, Kirk Black, Staci McCoy, Jeff and Bryan George, Lindsey Kennedy, Kelly Wright, Kerri, Lauren, Gary, Cecil and Carter Ward and Carlie Hendricks; thirteen great grandchildren and was expecting his fourteenth in March; and several special nieces and nephews.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, November 1, at 4 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Robinson officiating followed by military honors. The family will receive friends following the service. The family will lay him to rest beside his beloved Thelma on Saturday at Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Tidewater Chapter, 5712 Cleveland Street, Suite 100, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Please visit his book of memories at www.grahamfuneralhome.com to view the service if unable to attend and to leave a note to the family.
