Virginia Beach - Harold E. "Bill" Weatherholt passed away on Dec. 21, 2011. He was born Oct 18, 1928 to Clifford and Ethel Weatherholt in Atwood, Ill.
He married Anna Joyce Homiare on Sept 16, 1952 in Atwood, Ill. Surviving is his wife of 59 years Anna Joyce Weatherholt of Virginia Beach, one daughter Susan Kay Caruana and son in law Philip Caruana of Virginia Beach, four grandchildren, Jonathan Houston, of Atlanta, Ga., Charlene Houston of Virginia Beach, Ashley Caruana of Perth Australia, and Philip Caruana, JR of Virginia Beach. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one infant son, and one daughter Cindy Ann Weatherholt.
He was a veteran having served in the US Air Force, Air Training Command, as a Crew Chief and Flight Engineer on B-17 and B-25 Bombers on training flights. He attended University of Illinois and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in 1953 and later a MBA from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga.
Bill retired as a Marketing Executive with Amoco Oil Co and subsidiary companies after 25 years.
He was a meber of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church of Princess Anne in Virginia Beach where he served as Elder, Chairman of Stewardship and Finance, Treasurer, and Administrative Chairman. In addition to his family and work, he was a licensed pilot, an avid fly fisherman, and sports enthusiast. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
A graveside service will be held at Princess Anne Memorial Park, 1110 North Great Neck Rd on Tuesday December 27 at 11 a.m. Please join the family in celebrating Bill's Life at the Memorial Service on January 7, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church at 2228 Princess Anne Rd. Virginia Beach, VA 23456. The Rev George Fitzgerald will officiate In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations may be made to the Building Fund at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. H.D.
