Harry Harrison, Jr.
Norfolk - Harry Harrison, Jr. of the 1000 Block of Mapole Avenue went home to be with the Lord on January 25, 2013.
Born in Norfolk, Harry was the son of Marie and the late Harry Harrison, Sr. Besides his father, he was preceded in death by one aunt, Nancy Boyer.
Harry was a faithful member of Second Calvary Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. He participated in the Men's Ministry, was a door greeter and was a member of the Men's Choir.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his loving mother, Marie Harrison of Norfolk; three sisters, Deborah Corley of Lanham, MD, Sheila Harrison of Denver, CO and Sonya Harrison-Sykes of Chesapeake; one brother, Darryl Harrison (Anise) of Suffolk; four nephews; two uncles, Timothy Seberry of Chesapeake and Joseph Seberry of Arizona; four aunts, Mattie Scarborough of Wilson, NC, Geraldine Campbell of Columbus, SC, Josephine Williams of Wilson, NC and Mary E. Sutton of Chesapeake; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 12:00 noon in Second Calvary Baptist Church, where Rev. Dr. Geoffrey V. Guns is pastor, with Rev. Frank Guns presiding. The body will be placed in church on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Viewing will be at the funeral home Wednesday from 3-6 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.fitchettfuneralhome.com.
