Harry Jones Obituary

Harry Lee Jones Jr. SUFFOLK - Harry Lee "H.L." Jones Jr., 86, of the 100 block of North Capitol St., died Saturday, May 29, 2010 in Sentara Obici Hospital. He was a native of Gibson, N.C., and the son of the late Harry Lee Jones Sr. and Rachel Quick Jones. He was predeceased by his wife, Margie C. Jones; his daughter, Joyce Crocker; and his son, William Jones. He retired after 37 years at the Naval Supply Center. He also was a bus driver for Ventura Tours, Gallop and Andrew Jones for many years. He was a member of St. Timothy Baptist Church where he was a member of the Trustee Board and the Volunteer Food Bank Ministry. He also was a member of Star of Sharon Masonic Lodge No. 231 and Greater Suffolk Lodge No. 206 Elks Lodge. He leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Charlie C. Jones (JoAnn), Terence Jones, Ronnie Mitchell, all of Suffolk; sister, Elaine Jones Webb of Alexandria, Va.; 19 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday, June 5, in St. Timothy Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Harden Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Carver Memorial Cemetery. Crocker Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.crockerfuneralhome.com.
