Harry Pfifferling

Harry E. Pfifferling VIRGINIA BEACH - Harry E. Pfifferling, 69, passed June 23, 2010 in Norfolk. He was born in Pennsylvania and had been an area resident since 1972. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1985 after 26 years of service. After retiring from the Navy, he worked for VEDA Inc., the U.S. Census Bureau and Forrest Exterminating. He joined the Loyal Order of Moose in 1992 and was a member of Aragona Village Moose Lodge. He advanced to the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 2007. He was also a member of the Fleet Reserve Association branch No. 60 and a member of Doric Lodge No. 44 of the Masons. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy; sons, Thomas of Virginia Beach and wife Tammy, and James of Burlington, N.C.; three grandchildren, Missy, Thomas Jr., and Stacie; twin brother, John and his wife Diana of New Hampshire; sisters, Ruth and Patricia Barker and husband Ray, both of Pennsylvania; several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Priscilla; father, John; and sister, Doris. A funeral will be held Monday, June 28, at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, where friends may come to a viewing from 1 to 2 p.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
