Herbert Wiggins

Herbert R. Wiggins SUFFOLK - Herbert Riddick "Pete" Wiggins, 80, passed away Nov. 1, 2010 at his residence. Born in Gates County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Charlie and Adelaide Wiggins Sr. As of Nov. 13, 2010, he would have celebrated 59 years with his loving wife, Louise Briggs Wiggins. Pete was an auto mechanic for more than 40 years and retired as an owner/operator of Eastover Service & Repair. He was a member of West End Baptist Church, Travelers Post "P," and the Suffolk Elks Lodge 685. Pete lived life to the fullest and whenever you saw him he always had a good joke to share. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his daughter, Linda W. Eure and husband Danny J. Eure of Eure, N.C.; sons, V. Keith Wiggins of Suffolk, H. Wayne Wiggins and wife Debbie of Suffolk; grandsons, Wade Wiggins of Portsmouth, Scott Wiggins and wife Heather of Suffolk; great-grandson, Gavin Wiggins; sisters, Clara P. Page of Mechanicsville, Va., and Catherine W. Merz of Glen Allen, Va.; brother, Horace H. Wiggins of Suffolk. A funeral will be conducted Thursday, Nov. 4, at 11 a.m. in R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St., Suffolk, VA 23434 by the Rev. T. Floyd Irby Jr. Entombment will be held in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today, Nov. 3, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the West End Baptist Church, 501 W.
