Horner B. Baker, Sr.
Virginia Beach - Horner Beverly Baker, Sr., 86, passed away Nov. 18, 2012. He was born in Norfolk May 11, 1926. He was a WWII Veteran of the Army also serving in the Marine Reserve. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of the Tidewater Automobile Dealers Association and was a Dealer Principal for Holiday Pontiac and General Manager of Regency Oldsmobile. He was also owner of Fisherman's Inn Restaurant.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Ellen Jean Baker and is survived by his daughter Debra Jean Baker; sons, Horner "HB" Baker, Jr. and wife Karen, Wayne Charles Baker and wife Jan, Jeffrey Lynn Baker and wife Laura, Gary David Baker and wife Lisa; brother Robert "Bob" Baker and wife Annie; grandchildren, Wesley Randolph Baker, Brett V. Baker, Derek S. Baker, Kristin Barnes, Brook Elizabeth Baker, Zackary Ryan Baker, Emily Jean Baker, Ellen Joanne Baker, Lindsay Jean Baker; great grandchild Emma Barnes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Myrtle Baker, sister, Elaine Eike Underwood, and brothers, Reginald Wythe Baker, Sr. and V.C. Baker, Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Friday Nov. 23rd at 2 PM in Hollomon-Brown funeral Home Bayside Chapel with Pastor John Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
