Houston Andrews Obituary

Houston Andrews Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - The Rev. Houston Lee Andrews Sr., 64, went to be with the Lord on April 12, 2010. He was born in Texas to the late Roosevelt Andrews Sr. and Matilda Andrews. The Rev. Andrews served in the U.S. Navy for 21 years. He served during Vietnam and was handpicked to serve aboard the Battleship New Jersey. The Rev. Andrews is survived by his wife, Dee Andrews; two children, Trina Andrews-Olson and Houston Andrews Jr.; two grandchildren, Joshua Scott Olson and Rachel Joy Olson; one brother, L.V. Andrews (Birda); a host of family and friends. A celebration of life service will be held Friday, April 16, at 10 a.m. in Beach Fellowship Church, 1817 General Booth Blvd., Virginia Beach, with burial to follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dee Andrews, in care of The Joshua and Rachel Olson Educational Fund, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Altmeyer Funeral Home, Maestas Chapel, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach, VA 23451, is in charge of the arrangements. To The Family, Really sorry of the lost of your daughter, I didn't know her well but she was in my wife's class of '79 at Hampton, I can't make it to the funeral dur to another work commitment, the family is in my prayers and be strong and hold on to each other for guidence and wisdom, sincerely Mr & Mrs Myra, Cleveland Corbin
