Iris Kerpelman Obituary

Iris B. Kerpelman VIRGINIA BEACH - Iris B. Eckstein Kerpelman, 81, died April 8, 2010. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Sidney and Sylvia Eckstein. She was the widow of Earle Kerpelman, M.D. Mrs. Kerpelman was a member of Beth Chaverim in Virginia Beach, was an avid reader, and in years past bridge player. She is survived by her daughters, Sally Schaffner and her husband Philip of Poquson, Va., Ruth Smith and her husband Phillip of Virginia Beach and Sheila Kerpelman of Norfolk; her sister, Enid Smeal; brother, Michael Eckstein and his wife Ellen; and three grandchildren, Sylvia Rose Smith, Jeremy Daniel Schaffner and Miranda Nicole Schaffner. Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Cemetery Monday at noon with Rabbi Irael Zoberman officiating. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Beth Chaverim in Virginia Beach.
