Isaac Byrum Obituary

Isaac Byrum Jr. TYNER - Isaac Byrum Jr., 86, of the 300 block of Sign Pine Road, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010 in Winslow Memorial Home, Elizabeth City. Mr. Byrum was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late Isaac Sr. and Charity Al Cora Parks Byrum. A farmer, he was a member of Warwick Baptist Church, and was a Navy veteran of World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Edna Mae Boyce Byrum. Surviving are two daughters, Florrette Byrum Willett and husband Fred of Winston- Salem and Sheila Byrum Anderson and husband Larry of Elizabeth City; a son, Gary Byrum and wife Jan of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Ashley Thomas, Brandon Willett, Cale Ward, Jody Ward, and Charity Byrum; and 10 great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home, 304 Main St., Gatesville, by the Rev. Gene Asbill. Burial will follow in Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery.
