Jack Sparks Obituary

Jack K. Sparks Sr. SUFFOLK - Jack K. Sparks Sr., 80, died Oct. 23, 2010 in his home. Jack is survived by his wife, Marcia Sparks; son, Col. Jack K. Sparks Jr. (Lynn); daughters, Melodie Sparks, Jinger Robins (Jim), Kim Glover (Charles); and grandchildren, Nicole and Peter Tracanna, Jack III, Amanda and Kelley Sparks, Wes and Hana Robins and Henry and Ruby Glover. Jack has two surviving sisters, Shirley Vincent of Alabama, Virginia Bell of Mississippi and two brothers, John Sparks of Florida and Michael Sparks of Alabama; sisters-in-law, Shirley Herring (Carl), Patty Spence and brother-in-law, William Pegram (Linda). The family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice, Suffolk office, for their care and kindness. They will always have a special place in our hearts. We are grateful to our friends and family and a special thanks to sisters, Shirley Herring, Patty Spence and Jack's longtime friend, Joe Atkins, for being by our sides during Jack's long illness. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, at 11 a.m. Oct. 27, with Chaplain Dick Dinges officiating.
