Virginia Beach - Jacqueline Caulay MacDonald, 92, passed away September 30, 2013.
She was born October 27, 1920 in Paris, France. She married the late Clarence Joseph MacDonald in 1945. They enjoyed forty four years of marriage and lived in Maine, Massachusetts, and Virginia Beach.
Jacqueline was a preschool teacher at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church for twenty one years. She taught the two and one half year olds and loved singing to them in French. The last fifteen years, she worked in the nursery at Thalia United Methodist Church. She was known to everyone as "Miss Jacqueline".
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and ballroom dancing. Always a beautiful, stylish lady, who lived life to the fullest, she was much younger than her years.
Jacqueline was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was adored by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was lovingly known to them as "Grandmama Mac".
She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Janine and Andy Smith, granddaughter Natalie Anne Smith, grandson Donald Anderson Smith and his wife, Leslie, great grandchildren, Brody, Charlotte, and Lindsey Jacqueline.
A funeral service will be held Friday October 4, at 11 a.m. at Thalia United Methodist Church, 4321 Virginia Beach Blvd. Virginia Beach, VA 23452. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service at 10:15 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Thalia United Methodist Church. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Rd Chapel is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be made at hdoliver.com.
