Jane Joyner

Jane M. Joyner TYNER - Jane Morris Joyner, 86, of River Acres Lane, died Friday, Oct. 15, 2010 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Mrs. Joyner was born in Bertie County and was the daughter of the late William F. Morris and Mrs. Willie Forehand Morris Perry. A retired sales clerk with Belks of Edenton, she also along, with Adelaide Hendrix, operated for more than 20 years the Cannon's Ferry Quick Lunch. A faithful member of Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church, she served as treasurer for 30 years, had taught Sunday school, and was assistant director of the W.M.U. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Gordon Joyner and her son, Millard Gordon Joyner. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Brenda H. Joyner of Elizabeth City; her sister, Dorothy M. Daniels and husband Webster of Colerain; two grandsons, Stacey Gordon Joyner and wife Catherine of Raleigh and Jason Edward Joyner and wife Clare of Charlotte; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. in Ballard's Bridge Baptist Church by the Rev. Ron Parr. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
