Dear Family of Mrs. Washburn,
Last August 2009, I posted a note on a Discussion Board through Facebook about teachers I REMEMBER from LInkhorn Park Elementary. I attended school there in 1969-1970 and Mrs. Washburn was my 5th Grade teacher. I was a new kid to the school and to the area after my parents divorce. I will always remember her kindness to me. I developed a passion for writing and am saddened to learn of her passing, but I celebrate her long life and with gratitude I remember her talent for teaching.
A fellow alumni was kind enough to post a follow-up note tonight to let us all know of her passing ... 50 years melted away and I shed several tears with all of you. May Her Memory Be Eternal.
