Jerry Easter Obituary

Jerry Crockett Easter CHESAPEAKE - Jerry Crockett Easter, 67, passed away Dec. 25, 2010 in his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Lorraine; his daughter, Patricia and son, Jerry W. and his wife Carol. Jerry and Lorraine were high school sweethearts, best friends and fishing buddies. He was born in Bradshaw, W.Va., where he had fond memories of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He loved his country home-place where he roamed the hills and creek banks as a boy. Jerry was a lover of fresh water fishing. The last two years, he unselfishly gave up his hobby to take care of his family. He was predeceased in April by his "Aunt Chubby" and his loving mother Betty Easter in November, whom he and his wife were caregivers for the last five years in their home. Jerry was retired from Freedom Lincoln Mercury, formerly Conoly Phillips Lincoln Mercury, where he was a car salesman for more than 35 years. He was that rare and fortunate individual who was always friendly and eager to help his family, friends, co-workers and customers. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him by his beautiful smile and quick wit. The family wishes to express their appreciation for care and support given by Heartland Home Health and Hospice Care. A memorial service honoring Jerry and his mother Betty will be held Friday, Dec. 31 at 2 p.m. in Faith Temple Church, 1171 George St., Norfolk, by the Rev. William G. Beagle. A reception will follow the service in the church social hall. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the church or the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
