Jo-Anne Mello NORFOLK - Jo-Anne Mello, 63, of the 3500 block Pomroy Ave., passed away Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at her home. Born in Fall River, Mass., Jo-Anne was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and school where she was formerly a teacher's assistant. She was a Scout leader for troop and pack No. 303. She also was a fund- raiser and organizer for various charities to include: St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters, American Cancer Society and the Special Olympics. Jo-Anne is survived by her husband, John Mello; daughter, Jennifer Mello; two sons, John Mello and wife Lizzy and James Mello; a sister, Pat Bamford and husband Arnie; a brother, Bruce Carrolton and wife Dale. She was predeceased by her parents, Anita and Gordon Carrolton, and a brother, Gordon "Buzzy" Carrolton. She was a loving, caring and very dedicated wife and mother. A memorial will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Christ the King Catholic Church with Fr. Mattias officiating. Burial will be in Fall River, Mass., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King's Fine Arts Program. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is in charge of arrangement.
