John Devoles

John V. Devoles MELBOURNE, Fla. - John V. Devoles, 70, passed away April 29, 2011 in Melbourne, Fla. He was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., Dec. 6, 1940. He was predeceased by his parents, Gus Devoles of Corinth, Greece and Anne Yamalaki Devoles of Istanbul, Turkey and is survived by one brother, Nicolas Devoles of Wilmington, N.C. John was a project manager for Norfolk Redevelopment Housing Authority (NRHA) for 33 years. Upon retirement, he resided in The Villages, Fla., where he enjoyed working in the yard with his dogs Honeybee and Bebe, cooking and playing golf with his friends and beloved wife Lou. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years, Lou Devoles; his daughter, Louanne Greene; and son, John N. Devoles. He leaves behind many friends and family including three grandchildren, Vicente, Andrea and Nicholas; daughter-in-law, Stephanie Devoles; and son-in-law, Dave Greene. Papoú, you went too soon. You were dearly loved and will be greatly missed. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, 1264 N.
