To Bedford and other family members and friends of Joyce. Joyce was a tremendous friend to me while she was teaching at Chowan. She welcomed me when I came from MO and we shared the fact that we both were KU grads. I cared for one of her cats and she cared for me. I am sorry I can't be there to share with all of you since I am now living in PA near my family. Take care of yourselves and know that Joyce touched the lives of many people and always in a positive manner. She is a part of my lifeline. With sincere sympathy, Janie Markert
