Katherine Davis Obituary
Katherine Pace Davis VIRGINIA BEACH - Our precious "Dittie," Katherine Pace Davis, passed away peacefully Monday, April 5, 2010 at Lake Chelan Community Hospital. Dittie was born in Petersburg, Va., Nov. 23, 1919 to William Allen Pace and Mary Maher Pace. She had three brothers who preceded her in death, William F. Pace, John T. Pace III and Robert Allen Pace. She was also preceded in death by her two husbands, Arthur V. Cadieux and George Coles Davis. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Bettie C. Myers and her husband Mike (sometimes Dittie referred to him as her son); two grandsons whom she loved dearly, Michael Cary Myers Jr. and wife Tracy of Shelton, Conn., and Bradley Allen Myers and wife Amy of Mercer Island, Wash.; and four great-grandchildren, Megan, Anna, Justin and Allison Myers; nephew, John T. Pace IV and family in Pennsylvania; and niece, Jan Pace Brice and her family in Georgia and so many wonderful friends in Virginia Beach, Bainbridge Island, Wash., and Lake Chelan, Wash. In Dittie's early years in Virginia, her love of the children she cared for and the time she spent on the beach in the summers was a wonderful time of her life. The next chapter in her life was when she moved to Washington state to care for her first grandchild, Megan, and later Anna, Justin and Allison. She was so proud of her family and southern heritage. She knew so many people and touched everyone she met with her warm, generous, unselfish spirit and charm. She never met a person who didn't become an instant friend. She will be truly missed by her family and all her friends from all walks of life but will be joining her husband "Scat," whom she loved dearly. We don't know anyone who gave more love and joy to everyone. Dittie's faith in God and her belief that death was just a next chapter in her being has supported the family in their loss. We all know there is a dessert bar in heaven waiting for Dittie! There will be a celebration of Dittie's life at a later time this summer. Remembrances can be made to Lake Chelan Community Hospital Foundation or Lake Chelan United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan.
