Kathryn Hobbs Obituary

Kathryn C. Hobbs NORFOLK - Kathryn C. "Kitty" Hobbs, 87, went to be with the Lord Jan. 5, 2011. Kitty was a native of Chowan County, North Carolina, a member of Kempsville Baptist Church for more than 50 years, and a retired bookkeeper from Greenwich Supply Company. During her retirement she used her bookkeeping skills at Wright-Way plumbing through age 86. She was predeceased by her late husband of 51 years, E.C. Hobbs; her parents, Jehu and Annie Copeland; and brothers and sisters, Merton, Kesler, Marjorie, Edith, Hubert, Harold and Delton. Survivors include her son and his wife, Jerry and Ginger Hobbs; their daughters and spouses, Kathryn and Fred Sims, Kimberly and John Wright and Angela and Jason Deitz.; four great- grandchildren, Andrew, Corbin, Joseph and Patricia who will greatly miss their beloved Mema; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors in celebration of Kitty's life Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. A funeral will take place Monday at 11 a.m. in Kempsville Baptist Church with the Rev. Ken Carlton officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kempsville Baptist Church. Condolences may be offered to the family at wwww.hollomon-brown.com.
