Kenneth Martinez VIRGINIA BEACH - Kenneth Martinez, 65, passed away Jan. 8, 2011. He was born April 9, 1945 in Manhattan, N.Y. He was the son of the late, Pascual Martinez and Marie Bisbal. Ken was a childhood actor, starring in "Somebody Up There Likes Me," "The Martha Raye Show," and performed with Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin. As a young man he served in the Navy. His love for horses turned into a profession; he was a harness race driver for more than 20 years. His most important job was a loving father. Ken always had a story to tell and was always looking to make people smile. He was the proprietor of big smiles, song, dance and endless laughter. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Dawn Candia, Dyan, Jason, Emily and Laurie Martinez; son-in-law, Chris Candia; two grandchildren, Grace and Gabe; five sisters and three brothers and his wife, Christina. A memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Ascension, 4853 Princess Anne Road, Virginia Beach. A reception to follow at PA Pub, 3717 Tiffany Lane.
