Lester W. Miller

Virginia Beach - Lester W. Miller, 69, of Virginia Beach, went to be with the Lord, Friday, December 13, 2013.

Born in Old Princess Anne County, he was the son of the late Menno R. and Lucy Miller. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Elsie, Walter "Buddy", and Martin as well as two nieces. Lester retired from Yoder Dairies where he served as plant manager for many years. He was a member of Providence Mennonite Church. Most of all, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, beloved brother and dear friend who was loved by all.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Emma Miller; children, Janice Hobbs (Kurt), Wendy Miller, Gary Miller (Laura), Duane Miller (Kate); grandchildren, Clayton, Kayla and Kelsey; siblings, Willard "Bill" Miller (Barbara) and Shirley Keffer (Dale); a sister-in-law, Elva Miller, as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 16, 2013 at Providence Mennonite Church, 5363 Old Providence Road, Virginia Beach. Rev. Dale Keffer, Rev. Robin Hershberger and Rev. Jason Miller will officiate. The interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church.

The family would like to offer sincere gratitude to Lester's caretakers and church family who supported him during his time of need.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Jerusalem Church in Managua, Nicaragua C/O Providence Mennonite Church.
