Lois Harrell Obituary

Lois Wright Harrell PORTSMOUTH - Lois Cathran "Trixie" Harrell, 94, went to be with her Lord Oct. 14, 2010. She was born in Nansemond County, Virginia and was a graduate of HollandHigh School. She was a homemaker, a member of First Presbyterian Church and former member of Prentis Park Presbyterian Church. She was active in Women's Work and a longtime member of the Gleaners Bible Class. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels until after she was 90. Cathran was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed fishing and her time spent at Kill Devil Hills with family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Clement Staley Harrell; her parents, William and Mary Sue Wright; brother, Frank Wright; and sister, Virginia Barnes. She is survived by two sons, three grandsons and three greatgrandsons: Steven K. Harrell and wife Kelly of Portsmouth and R. Keith Harrell and wife Phyllis of Suffolk with their sons, Andrew Harrell and wife Amy, and their sons Edward and Andrew of Suffolk; Brian Harrell and wife, Pam Chesmar and their son Brandon of Glen Allen; and Matthew Harrell of Suffolk. A graveside service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery by the Rev. Kerry Westerwick. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel. The family would like to thank the staff of Bon Secours Hospice for their wonderful help during these past two months. Also, special thanks to our friend, Cindy Deller, for the loving care she gave Mom. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 515 Court St., Portsmouth, VA 23704, or to Bon Secours Hospice, 3636 High St., Portsmouth VA 23707.

So sorry to hear about Aunt Trixie passing.It was always a pleasure to see her at the family reunions.She will be truly missed.
