Lottie Bullard Obituary

Lottie Rue Bullard NORFOLK - Mrs. Lottie Rue Trader Bullard, 75, of Cape Charles, Va., formerly of Norfolk, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, Va. Born and raised in Hacksneck, Va., she was the daughter of the late Edward Trader and Lottie Killmon Trader. Other than her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vernon Bullard. Lottie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of the Calvary Bible Church. Survivors include her children, Elton Quinn Thornes of Clam, Va., Sandra Thornes Richardson and husband Troy of Nassawadox, Pamela Thornes Childress and husband Ted of Birdsnest, Va., Valerie Thornes Elliott and husband John of Cape Charles, and Keith Thornes and wife Chantel of New Church, Va.; four stepchildren, Johnny Thornes, Herbert Thornes and wife Faye, all of Parksley, Va., Betty Thornes Jones and husband Bo of Melfa, Va., and Paulette Bullard Johnson and Jim of Portsmouth; a brother, Oscar Trader of Williamsburg, Va.; a sister, Rose Ann Trader Moore and husband Kippy of Keller, Va.; 22 grandchildren; 24 great- grandchildren; three nieces and two nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Pete and Franklin Trader. A funeral was conducted at the Calvary Bible Church in Accomac, Va., on Sunday, April 11, at 4 p.m. Interment followed in the Hollies Baptist Church Cemetery in Keller. There was a visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the Shore Cancer Center, P.O. Box 17, Nassawadox, VA 23413 or to the Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market St., Suite 3, Onancock, VA 23417. Memory tributes may be shared with the family at www.williamsfuneralhomes. com.
