Lucille Amorosso Obituary

Lucille P. Amorosso VIRGINIA BEACH - Lucille P. "Toot" Amorosso, 83, formerly of Cresskill, N.J., passed away on July 13, 2011. She was born May 17, 1928 in Nyack, N.Y. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Angelina Prodigo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Amorosso. Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Jean A. DiRese and husband Angelo of Chesapeake; two sons, Larry J. Amorosso and wife Gail, and Edward J. Amorosso and wife Debbie of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Janet Frohlich of Northvale, N.J., Loretta Hermann of Virginia Beach and Susan Essman of Northvale; two brothers, Frank Prodigo, of Closter, N.J., and Alexander "Nino" Prodigo of Northvale. She was a loving grandmother of seven grandchildren, Angelina Cook, Danny DiRese, David DiRese, Joseph Amorosso II, Alyse Conyers, Lt.j.g. Ryan Amorosso, Greg Amorosso; and six great-grandchildren. She was the former Member of the Year of the Indian River YMCA. She was an avid bingo player and loved to ride her bike and fish. She enjoyed her grandchildren's sports activities. She will be greatly missed. Memorials may be sent to the Indian River YMCA. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 18, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, by Deacon Sean Prince. Interment will take place in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, July 17, from 2 to 4 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
