Madeleine Roberts Obituary

Madeleine L. Roberts VIRGINIA BEACH - Madeleine L. Roberts, 83, went home to be with her beloved Saviour, Jesus Christ, on April 18, 2010. She was preceded in death by her parents, Constance and Eugene Donnier; sister, Odette Ryanp; and her husband, Glenn Roberts. Left to cherish her lifelong memories are her five daughters and their husbands, Janice and George Diggs of Chesapeake, Valerie and Terry Siviter of Virginia Beach, Odette and Jimmy Harris of North Carolina, Claudia and Phil Davenport of Chesapeake, Renee and Glenn Jones of Virginia Beach; 11 grandchildren, Michelle Diggs, Andrew Diggs, Madeleine Siviter, Jill Siviter, Brandon Harris, Mike Harris, Brad Davenport, Aimee Davenport, Don Jones, Jeff and Erena Jones, Paul and Alice Jones; great-grandchildren, Evan, Preston and Taylor. Madeleine was a homemaker and nurturer, so it was natural she would decide on a nursing career in midlife as the children got older. She worked her last 15 years at the Ballentine home. Her life long willingness to serve others continued through retirement as she was always available for whoever needed help or perhaps just an ear. Her favorite things to do were: Bible reading to learn more about God's kingdom, sewing, volunteering in the reading program, and listening to her daughter's daily news. To all who knew Madeleine, they found a friend, confidant, peacemaker and counselor. We rise up to call her Blesséd. As requested by Madeleine, a private memorial graduation dinner was held to celebrate her life. The family wishes to thank all who so lovingly cared for Mother's needs. A special thank you to Pat, Vangie and Sahlee.
