Margaret Hinkle Obituary

Margaret Ruth Hinkle VIRGINIA BEACH - Margaret Ruth McFarlane Hinkle, 83, passed away Oct. 21, 2010 in Virginia Beach. She was born in Norfolk and was the widow of Burl Hinkle. Mrs. Hinkle retired from civil service as an auditor and was also a former manager of Econo Lodge. She is survived by two sons, Michael Evans and Ted R. Evans, both of Virginia Beach; stepdaughter, Sharon Slaughter and husband Jim of Gloucester, Va.; stepson, Nathan Hinkle and wife Juanita of Manassas, Va.; sister, Esther Chauncey of Norfolk; 14 grandchildren, Wendy, Michael, Mickey, Erica, Stanley, Samantha, Ted Jr., Tyler, David, Matthew, Tim, Heather, Kaitlynn, Bryan and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Carrie Kidwell McFarlane; two brothers; and her beloved cat, Missie. A graveside service will be held Monday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m. in Riverside Memorial Park by Mike Evans. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. Condolences may be made to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
