Marjorie Drake Baines

Chesapeake - Marjorie Juanita Fanny Drake Baines, of Dock Landing Road, passed away November 9, 2013 at Maryview Hospital. A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late John and Berta Fanny. She was predeceased by her husbands, James A. Drake and David E. (Dick) Baines. She was also predeceased by a brother, Clinton M. Fanny.

Marjorie had been a member of the Zulekia Court # 35 Lady Oriental Shrine of North America, Inc.

She is survived by her nephews, Marvin (Barbara) Fanny. Sr. of Suffolk; James Frederick (Janet) Fanny of Chesapeake; and Jimmy (Sharon) Fanny of Suffolk; and her nieces, Penny (Billy) Satterfield of Chesapeake and Leigh Atinp of Alabama. Also surviving her are her great-nephews, Marvin Lee Fanny, Jr.; Loyd (Jill) Smith and their children, Joshua, Amber, and Robert; Brian C. Satterfield; Erik Fanny; and Jason Fanny; and her great-nieces, Nita (Gary) Parker and their children, Brynn and Christian; and Amy (Luke) Itnyre and their children, Gage and Ezra, who all will miss her love, warmth, and generosity.

A service will be held on Thursday, November 14, at 1 p. m. at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, with the Rev. Connie McDonald officiating. Friends may join the family for visitation at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 13. Burial will be immediately following the service in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
