Marjorie Minton Obituary

Marjorie Fisher Minton VIRGINIA BEACH - Marjorie Fisher Minton, 91, passed away May 20, 2010 in Virginia Beach. A native of Princess Anne County, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude and Audie Fisher Sr. She graduated from Old Oceana High School and she retired from Fuel Feed Building Supply. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her adoring husband, Knaus Minton and her brothers, Audie Fisher Jr., Marshall Fisher, and her sisters, Alice Cherrigan and Lucille Fisher. She leaves to honor and cherish her memory her devoted sister, Lillian Edge and her husband Norman; her daughters, Beth Decker and her husband Tom, and Norma Resczynski and her husband Chessie; her beloved grandsons, Gabriel O'Gorman, Christopher Decker and his wife Megan, Michael, Jason and Ryan Decker; six great-grandchildren; granddog, Baylee; and many nieces and nephews. The family gives a special thanks to her niece Linda Phillips and the staff of Sentara Village Assisted Living at Rosemont Road. Marjorie loved being a "Beach girl" and would spend many hours talking about growing up by the ocean. May she always have sand in her shoes. A celebration of her life will be conducted at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, with viewing Monday at 10 a.m. and services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family invites guests to the First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach at 401 35th St. after the service. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be made to First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach and Volunteer Rescue Squad, 740 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23451. We love you and miss you tremendously. May you rest in peace.

Dear Norma,

I was shocked and saddened to hear that you had lost your Mom. I know just what a painful experience that is. Hopefully we can share some stories of her life this summer at the most appropriate place to do so, the beach. Meanwhile you are in my thoughts and prayers.
