Mary Anne Hutchison Culbreth
Virginia Beach - Mary Anne Hutchison Culbreth peacefully passed away April 1, 2013 after a brief but hard fought battle against breast cancer.
She was born April 26, 1937 in Norfolk, to the late Harry E. Hutchison and Mary Frances McBride Hutchison. She graduated from St. Margaret's School in Tappahannock, VA and attended the Norfolk Division of William and Mary. She and her late husband, Richard Culbreth Sr., owned The Hat Rack at Waterside and the Oceanfront.
Left to cherish her memory are two sisters, Susan H. Davis and Margaret Jean Davie. Her children, Michael and wife Patty Fitzpatrick, Kathy Fitzpatrick and husband Richard Gwaltney, Clay and wife Kathi Culbreth, Katherine and husband Larry Hughes, James and wife Colleen Culbreth, and John Culbreth. A special nephew, Nathan Davis and his family. The absolute loves of her life were her grandchildren, Catie and Connor Fitzpatrick; Grace, Richard and Cody Culbreth; Chad, Cory and Crista Hughes; and Claire Culbreth; and one great granddaughter Amelia Culbreth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Laskin Road Chapel on April 13, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or a charity of your choosing.
