Minnie L. Brockett NORFOLK - Minnie L. Brockett, 81, of the 1000 block of Hampton Blvd., a retired sales clerk at Catherine's and daycare aide, passed away June 20, 2010. Mrs. Brockett was a native of Greenville, N.C. She was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk. Survivors include a son, Gerald D. Brockett of Norfolk; a daughter, Brenda J. Jenkins of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Julian L. Brockett of Alexandria, Crystal J. Johnson of Norfolk and Cheraldina M. Planas of the Philippines; one great-grandchild, Nevaeh Gipson; a host of cousins and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street Chapel. Family will assemble at 1437 Kingston Avenue No. 6, Norfolk, prior to procession to funeral. A wake will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
