Miriam Pyne Obituary

Miriam L. Spivey Pyne VIRGINIA BEACH - Miriam L. Spivey Pyne, 74, went to be with the Lord while at home surrounded by her family July 26, 2011. Born in South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ella Mae Dennis Delbridge and Henry Cole Dennis. She loved homemaking, gardening and was a duplicate bridge Life Master. She was a true Southern lady who instilled the love lessons of her family, and whose strength and love were her strongest virtues which encouraged and comforted others during her entire life. Miriam was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Pyne. She is survived by her children, Denise L. Daniels and her husband John S. Daniels, Robert O. Spivey Jr. and his wife Laurie A. Spivey and Sonya LyNea O'Hara; grandchildren, John Stephen Daniels Jr., Melissa Lynea Klepk, Ryan O'Neil Spivey, Michael Keith Southerland, John Robert Dockery and Henry Dalton Claus; great-grandchildren, Nathan Henry Daniels, Adam Cole Daniels and Gavin Michael Southerland; sisters, Sheila D. Shuford, Sara Lou Davis and Debra L. Wilson. A service will be held at noon Monday, Aug. 1, in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk, with a visitation one hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to give their sincere gratitude to Dr. John Patterson, nurses, and aides of Sentara Hospice for their excellent care and service. Memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.
