Nat Michon Obituary

Nat Stanley Michon CHESAPEAKE - Nat Stanley Michon, of the 1500 block of Rosehill Drive, passed away July 5, 2010 in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. A native of Meriden, Conn., he was the son of the late Joseph and Caroline Michon. He was the retired co-owner of Louis Grocery and Package Store. He was a member of The Catholic Church of St. Mark, the VFW and the DAV. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and formerly in the National Guard. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Laura G. Michon; three daughters, Lynda M. Rafferty of Portsmouth, Deborah M. Meek and husband Richard of Reidsville, N.C., and Sandra M. Hart of Avon, Conn.; six grandchildren, Dean D. Rafferty and wife Catherine of Richmond, Chad C. Rafferty of San Diego, Sara E. Meek of Wilmington, N.C., Richard D. Meek and Heather M. Meek, both of Greensboro, and Caroline Hart of Avon, Conn.; two great-grandchildren, Arabelle Rafferty and Griffin Rafferty both of Richmond. He was predeceased by several siblings. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Catholic Church of St. Mark with the Rev. Fr. James C. Griffin officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be held in the church columbarium at a later date. The family will receive friends at Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, today from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made either to the Alz- heimer's Association or the D.A.V.
