Norfolk - On March 24, 2013 Polly went home to be with her Lord and Saviour. She was born in Delbarton, West Virginia to Homer and Rebecca Maynard on Flag Day, June 14, 1922. Honey, as she was called by her family, was a member of Bethany Free Will Baptist Church for 50 years.
She was predeceased by two husbands, LeRoy Hall, Sr. and Bev E. Marshall; three brothers, Homer Jr., Pat and Noah Maynard and a sister, Martha Lands. She was also predeceased by four children, Howard Thomas, Rebecca, Mary Katherine and David Lynn.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons, LeRoy Jr. and wife Patricia, Guy William, both of Norfolk; Honey had six grandsons, LeRoy III, Robert, William Sr., James, Thomas, and Matthew. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren.
Polly worked for many years at Mercer's Boat House where she was known for her delicious rice and bread puddings.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel, by Rev. John Sinkhorn. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
