Richard A. Wisdak

Chesapeake - Richard A. Wisdak, Sr., 81, passed away on March 7, 2014.

Born in Trenton, New Jersey, he retired after 35 years from the engineering department at Tidewater Construction. A lifelong member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, he was in the Men's Club and served as an usher. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels and Operation Smile. He was devoted to his wife and family, had a kind and generous spirit and a witty sense of humor. He also enjoyed being outside and gardening.

Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara; two sons, Richard A. Wisdak Jr. (Robin) and Donald W. Wisdak; four daughters, Richelle A. Kelly (Kevin), Karen L. Wisdak, Deborah L. Hinchman (Greg) and Marie E. Brooks: four grandchildren, Dawn M. Horne (Bobby), Jennifer K. Robinson (Darran), Brittany M. Lynch (Robert Waltman) and Billey Brooks, Jr.; three great grandchildren, Jaedan, Noah and Alieah; and our second family, the Kramer's of New Jersey.

A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 11, at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Fr. John Abe officiating. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel is assisting the family. Condolences may be offered to the family at:
