Robert Bordeau Obituary

Robert J. Bordeau VIRGINIA BEACH - Robert James "Bob" Bordeau, 76, went to be with his Lord on Sept. 29, 2010. He was born in Monroe, Mich., to the late Harold and Josephine Bordeau. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mattie Eleanor Bordeau of Virginia Beach; son, James Michael Bordeau and wife Denise of Virginia Beach; daughter, Anne Bordeau Freeman and husband Scott of Virginia Beach; four grandsons, Zachary and Alexander Bordeau, Seth and Joshua Freeman, all of Virginia Beach; one brother, James Norman Bordeau and wife Rita of Flint, Mich.; and many nieces and nephews. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was stationed on the USS Vermillion. After 25 years with Colonial Chevrolet, he retired in 2003. In his retirement years, he enjoyed reading, shooting skeet and spending time with family. Bob was also a lifetime member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. A celebration of life will be held Monday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. in Rosewood Kellum Funeral Home, 601 N. Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Immediately following will be a reception at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or at www.dav.org.
