Robert Epstein Obituary

Robert Epstein NORFOLK - Robert Epstein, 79, passed away on April 23, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Ke Jing; children, Jonathan, Elana, Justin, Roxanne; stepson, Harold; two grandchildren, James and Elizabeth; brother, Jerry (Gerry); other loving family and friends. Robert was born April 30, 1930 in Benson Hurst, N.Y., the son of Helen and Nathan Epstein. After serving in the Korean War, Robert graduated from T.C. Williams Law School. He was a respected member in the legal community for almost 50 years. Beginning the firm Epstein & Epstein with his father, and continuing through his practice with Epstein, Sandler & Flora, Robert represented, counseled and helped thousands of clients, making a difference in their lives whenever he could. He was a longtime member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Virginia Trial Lawyer's Association and the Norfolk Portsmouth Bar Association and leaves a striking memory in the minds of our legal community. Robert was also a businessman who loved downtown Norfolk. His last venture was operating the Freemason Inn Bed and Breakfast, an elegant downtown getaway which he took great pride in. Robert was active in the Chesapeake Bay Ambassadors and many other social activities. He loved life and people and will be greatly missed. The funeral will be held Monday, April 26, at 11 a.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Chapel., 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. In lieu of gifts and flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www. woodlawngroup.com.
