Roy Luke Obituary

Roy I. Luke VIRGINIA BEACH - Roy I. Luke passed away peacefully at his home Feb. 18, 2011. He retired after 20 years from the Navy as a chief petty officer and then worked for Sears for 20 years. Roy belonged to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Men's Club. Roy was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Sally Ann Luke and five siblings. He is survived by his daughters, Nadine K. Dozier (Donald) and Marcine F. Luke; grandchildren, Cory and Chala Dozier and Jason Luke (Cynthia); one great- grandson, Ethan Dozier; brother, Robert Luke; three sisters, Muriel Hostetter, Ruth Malcolm and Ester Yates. A visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home. The service will take place Thursday, Feb. 24, at 1 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Roy's name. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.

Luke Family, I am so sorry for your loss. My dad, Jack Hudson, and Mr. Luke worked together at Sears for many years. Your family will be in our prayers at this difficult time.
