Norfolk - Rudolph Edward Etheridge, (Rudy), 87, of Knoxville, TN, passed away peacefully Monday, October 21, 2013, at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital from natural causes with his son Roy by his side.
He was born to the late Leroy Edward and Estelle Martha Browning Etheridge, September 14, 1926, in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Rudy married his love the late Mary L. Daughtry Etheridge in 1953, and they lived a wonderful life together living across the globe, and finally settling in Moyock, NC. Rudy relocated to Knoxville, TN in 2012.
Rudy retired multiple times from the U.S. Government Civil Service, and private industry, as a Civil Engineer. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He served proudly in the military during WWII.
Rudy is survived by 4 descendants: Roy Etheridge, and his wife Michelle, and his grandson Alexander of Knoxville, TN, and Ray Etheridge of Seattle, WA, and Joanne Etheridge, of Moyock, NC; a brother, Frederick Etheridge, and his wife Merle, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, and several nieces and nephews.
