Ruth Christensen Kelly VIRGINIA BEACH - Ruth Christensen Kelly, 79, passed away Nov. 5, 2010. Born in Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth Christensen. Ruth was a member of Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. Mugga, as she was known to her grandchildren, loved and adored her family. Ruth was an avid fan of Duke Basketball. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Mike Kelly and his wife Becky, Suzanne Kapetanakis and her husband John, and Kris Inderlied and her husband Mark, all of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren, John and Christian Kelly, Kendall, Kelly and Michael Kapetanakis, and Caroline, William and Amelia Inderlied; and her brother, Bernard Christensen. She was preceded in death by her sister, Connie Hughes; and her brother, Chris Christensen. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9, at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 1801 Baltic Ave., Virginia Beach. The family wishes to invite friends to join them for a reception at 4 p.m. at the home of Ruth's daughter, Kris Inderlied. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad.
