Ruth Lynch Obituary

Ruth C. Lynch CHESAPEAKE - Ruth Rosa Jackson Cabarras Lynch, 93, of 2300 block of Tawnyberry Lane, went to be with the Lord, Friday, April 9, 2010. She was born Dec. 30, 1916 to the late Emmett Jackson and Lizzie Harvell Jackson in Petersburg, Va. She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Jackson; a daughter, Ruth C. Durham; husbands, Willie F. Cabarras and Ernest Lynch; and two great-grandchildren Janine and Janell Melson. Sister Ruth was a faithful member of St. Thomas AME Zion Church, Norfolk. Her memory is cherished by three daughters, Thora C. Melson (Clyde), Earlene C. Esters (Arnette), and Jacqueline C. Cooper; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a host of relatives and friends. A funeral will be at noon Wednesday, April 14, at St. Thomas AME Zion Church, Norfolk, the Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lamb Sr., pastor. Burial will follow at Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, 500 Liberty St., Chesapeake, from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 13. What A beautiful life! She leaves a legacy. "She is not dead, but resting in the arms of Jesus" She has set an example for us all. Jackie, she will be forever be alive in you! God Bless you and the family. We must live for Christ if we are going to see her again! Keep the Legacy and Love Alive!

I have lost a wonderfully, kind, loving, concern, beautiful christian lady. I shall never forget her. I pray we are all better having been in her presence. Sorry for the loss of your loved one.
She will be greatly missed here on earth but she is in the arms of her heavenly father. Just remember to love and rely on God for your strength and he will see you through these trying times.
