Samuel Jones Obituary

Samuel C. Jones VIRGINIA BEACH - Samuel Clifford Jones, 80, passed away Dec. 4, 2010. He was born in Quincy, Fla., on July 13, 1930 to the late Lucius and Lydia Jones. Mr. Jones served his country proudly in the United States Navy retiring after 23 years. After his career with the Navy, he worked many years for Sears and then he started his own business as an interior trim carpenter. Mr. Jones was a member of the Fleet Reserve Branch No. 40. Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 60 years, Olive Fenton Jones; daughters, Patty Ramsey, Cathy McCollum, and Evelyn Oder and husband Richard; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, is handling the arrangements.
