Sarah A. Hoover CHESAPEAKE - Sarah Aylitta Hoover, 87, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010, in her residence. She was an art teacher for 22 years and enjoyed writing poetry. She was a member of Point Harbor Community Church. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Donald E. Hoover; two daughters, Sheila P. Singleton and Janet P. Winters, both of Portsmouth; a son, Larry Pritchard of Toano, Va.; a stepdaughter, Gloria M. Arvey of Baltimore, Md.; four grandchildren, Cristal Bass of Portsmouth, Steven K. Pritchard of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeffrey T. Pritchard of Charleston, S.C. and Matthew D. Winters of Seneca, S.C.; three great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Linda H. Ryder and Barbara Casto. A funeral will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 15, at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Pastor Tom Tuttle. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
