Solange Halioua

Solange Halioua VIRGINIA BEACH - Solange "Sol" Halioua, 86, of the 800 block of St. Denis Court, died Monday, April 5, 2010, in Richmond, Va. She was a native of Rabat, Morocco and emigrated from Paris in 1969 and lived in Hampton Roads for 41 years. She was the daughter of the late Marc and Marie Abitbol Bitton and was preceded in death by her husband, Nessim Halioua. She was a member of Temple Israel and the JCC Senior Club. Survivors include her daughters, Mercedes M. Hunt and her husband Ray of Virginia Beach, Viviane R. Kleiman and her husband Robert of Tampa, Fla., and Evelyne G. Schulhoff and her husband Gerald of Richmond, Va.; her sons, Maurice M. Halioua and his wife Toni Sue of Sea Cliff, N.Y., Raphael Halioua and his wife Dinah, Michel A. Halioua and Joseph Halioua, all of Virginia Beach; her sisters, Marcelle Humphries of Austin, Texas, Irene Cunningham of Del Ray, Fla., and Juliette Elbaz of Jerusalem, Israel; and her brother, Andre Britton of Melbourne, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held today, April 8, at 2 p.m. with Rabbi Michael Panitz officiating. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk chapel, is handling arrangements.
