Stella Reid Obituary

Stella Earlene Reid VIRGINIA BEACH- Stella Earlene Reid, native of Virginia Beach, passed away June 4, 2010 after a long courageous battle with Renal cell carcinoma. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Keith Laney and Michael Laney, and her beloved Maltese, Ace Bow. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Wallace M. Reid; her three daughters, Nylia Proescher, Lisa Gibson and Kathy Boucher; her grandchildren, Amber DePaolo, Christy Johnson, April Clark, Jody Graham, Jennifer Graham, and Michael Olson; her four great-grandchildren, and her beloved Maltese, Angel. She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God. She played an important part in the lives of the numerous children she cared for in her home for many years. Avidly gardening, raising butterflies, and feeding her birds and squirrels were among her favorite things to do. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Lee, Dr. Joanna Roberts and the staff at Virginia Oncology for their time and wonderful care. Kathy Boucher would like to personally thank Dr. Michael Lee for treating her mother as a person and not as a patient. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel. Burial will follow in Colonial Grove Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered to the family at www. hollomon-brown.com. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
