Sylvia D. Mann BOYKINS - Sylvia Davis Mann, 81, died Nov. 30, 2010, following a lengthy illness. A native of Northampton County, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Dosia Jones Davis and Ira Leroy Davis. She was a homemaker, bookkeeper for the family business, and an active member of Severn Baptist Church. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 62 years, Melvin E. Mann Sr.; her daughter, Diane M. Francis of Capron, Va.; two sons, Melvin E. Mann Jr. of Richmond, Va., and J. Michael Mann and wife Betty of Boykins; five grandchildren, Angie F. Floyd and husband Claude of Chesapeake, Vernie W. Francis III and wife Holly of Capron, Maggie A. Mann of Richmond, Molly K. Mann of Charlottesville, Va., and M. Cole Mann of Boykins; and a great-grandchild, Sydney E. Floyd, of Chesapeake. She was preceded in death by two brothers, W. Randolph Davis of Portsmouth and Ralph W. Davis of Clarksville, Tenn. She is survived by sisters and a brother, Carolyn D. Sanders and husband Art, of Fort Pierce, Fla., Jean D. Warren of Murfreesboro, N.C., Dorothy W. Davis of Portsmouth, Wayland B. Davis and wife, Song, of Freeport, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Boykins. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. in Severn, N.C. Cemetery with the Rev. Brent Hobbs and the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.
