Portsmouth - Theodosia Jaudon Mackenzie Goeller Adair, 92, died August 20. Mrs. Adair, a Portsmouth native, was the daughter of the late Henry William and Clara Maupin Ashton MacKenzie.
A graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School she attended Longwood College. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, an avid reader and world traveler.
Preceding her in death was her husband of 30 years U.S. Navy Rear Admiral Jamie Adair, former Commanding Officer of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard who was named First Citizen of Portsmouth for 1981, her first husband of 18 years, Lawrence E. Goeller, II, her brothers, the Honorable Henry W. MacKenzie and the Honorable John A. MacKenzie, her sisters, Martha M. Clark and Clara M. Jernigan and her daughter Julia Jaudon Todd.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Christina Hamill and husband James J. Hamill, Ellen Ashton Wise and husband Fredric Wise, III, her two step-daughters, Barbara Anne Norcross and Jared Adair, her son-in-law James G. Todd, her grandchildren Katherine, Sidney, Anne, Frank and Margaret, 9 great-grandchildren, 6 nieces and 2 nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014, at Trinity Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Trinity Church, 500 Court Street, Portsmouth VA, 23704, or to a
